A custom domain lets your workspace use an address such as card.example.com for its digital business cards.
Before you start
You need access to the DNS settings for your company’s domain. If another person manages the domain, send them the DNS records shown by Tapify.
Use a subdomain such as:
card.example.com
connect.example.com
people.example.com
Add the domain
- Open Settings → Domain.
- Enter the full subdomain without
https:// or a page path.
- Select Add.
If the domain needs DNS changes, Tapify shows the required Type, Name, and Value records.
Add the DNS records
- Sign in to your DNS provider.
- Open the DNS settings for the main domain.
- Add each record exactly as Tapify shows it.
- Save the DNS changes.
- Return to Tapify and leave the page open while the status is checked.
DNS changes can take time to appear. Do not add extra characters or include the full domain in the Name field if your provider adds it automatically.
Understand the status
DNS providers use different names for the same fields. Host can mean Name, and Target can mean Value.
Remove the domain
- Open Settings → Domain.
- Select Delete.
- Remove the old Tapify DNS records from your DNS provider when they are no longer needed.
The workspace returns to its standard Tapify address. Existing links using the removed custom domain will stop working, so update any places where you published that address.
If the status does not become active, see Teams troubleshooting.
