Contact sync keeps a copy of saved Tapify contacts in your phone’s Contacts app. Sync is optional and turned off by default.

Turn on contact sync

  1. Open Card.
  2. Tap the More button and select Settings.
  3. Open Preferences.
  4. Turn on contact sync.
  5. Allow Contacts access when asked.
The setting is called Sync with Apple Contacts. When you turn it on, Tapify syncs contacts already in the app and keeps new or updated contacts in Apple Contacts.

What is copied

Tapify can copy the available name, job title, company, primary phone number, email address, address, website, LinkedIn profile, and internal note. When possible, Tapify updates an existing phone contact instead of creating another one. Matching checks the email address, phone number, and name.

What sync does not do

  • Changes made only in your phone’s Contacts app do not return to Tapify.
  • Deleting a contact in Tapify does not delete the phone contact.
  • Turning sync off does not remove contacts already copied to your phone.
  • Tapify does not continuously replace every field in your phone contacts.
Review possible matches when two people have the same name. Contact matching cannot always identify duplicates correctly.

Turn sync off

Return to Settings → Preferences and turn off the contact-sync setting. Your existing phone contacts remain in place, but Tapify stops copying later changes.

If permission was denied

Open your phone’s system settings, find Tapify, and allow Contacts access. Return to Tapify and enable sync again. If contacts still do not appear, see Troubleshooting.
